I am not a knowledgeable gardener so I need your help.

I have two large beds of Asian Jasmine that I started four growth seasons ago. Finally, the Jasmine has pretty well covered the two areas. However, I still have weeds like nut grass and a little wild strawberry and other types of just common general weeds. Also a few sprigs of Bermuda Grass that was previously planted in these areas. It is not a really bad weed problem but it is getting very difficult to pull out some of the weeds because they are so entwined among the barky stems of the Asian Jasmine.

I have heard that Asian Jasmine tolerates or is not affected by some of the chemicals used for weed control. I would like to be able to spray the weeds in the Asian Jasmine beds without hurting the Jasmine.

Can you suggest a weed spray that would work best for my situation?

Thanks,
Gary

There's information going around that Asian Jasmine is resistant to roundup weed killer. I was skeptical at first, but found out later that its true. I didn't spray it, but I watched a customer use it lightly on some Jasmine and was surprised to see it didn't hurt the jasmine. The best way to use it is to dip a rag in it, and soak the tip of it, and wipe it on the bermuda grass and other weeds. Be sure and wear gloves, safety glasses and don't breath the fumes.. You can use it very lightly without damage to your Asian Jasmine.
