This rose is my favorite. I got these last year and have been very impressed by them. They are so easy to grow! It's like a Knockout Rose but the blooms look good! I see why they call them "Easy Does It!" I've never seen a plant take off as quickly as these did. I had a bare root and one in a pot. Both are amazing! ![]() |

wow Clint those are beautiful whats the name of that one ?? and where do you get them ?? Gloria |
Gloria, it's called Easy Does It (see the name of the thread, silly) and it was available just about everywhere last year. It was the rose of the year. It's a gorgeous, gorgeous thing and Clint is right about it being easy to grow. Sue took photos of it in San Jose when it was still in the test garden there and posted them in the Dave's Garden rose forum. I fell in love with it at first sight (in those photos). |

Yes. It's "Easy Does It." It has a kind of ruffled petal look. The blooms early in the season are more ruffled. This bloom is fresh. As you can see, it's just starting to get more pink in it. The orange gradually lightens and it looks so good when the blooms start to fade. The foliage is shiny and green. I'll try to post more photos as this bloom ages. It's really a neat effect. I planted Russian Sage and Nepeta "Walker's Low" with it and the colors look so good together. I ordered mine last year. I think I got one of them from Regan Nursery and the other one from S & W Greenhouses. The S & W plant was bare root. It really surprised me how that plant grew instantly when planted. Here's a link to a photo showing the blooms after they start to fade. http://www.edmundsroses.com/dp... |
I love the scalloped petals. |

wow.. Easy Does It never looked that hot-orange here.. more of a washed out peachy color at Tagawas nursery, which is why I didn't buy it last year. Maybe it's because of the heat from the nursery that washed out the colors? Roses are one of my passions! Just opened, my Etsy shop (to fund my rose hobby)! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Tweet... |
Maybe the blooms you saw were fading, Toni. Here are some more pics: http://cubits.org/roses/db/ros... |

Wow! That is one beautiful bloom! That would be a good color to add to my garden... |
Toni's so rude, picking out the one and only photo I contributed and using it as an example of the undesirable colors. ![]() ![]() ![]() I love those peachy-apricot blends. They remind me of Tuscan Sun, one of my other favorites. |

LOL, Zuzu - I didn't even look to see who contributed what.. I was just looking for more "spent" looking blooms to show the softer colors, that's all! You know that I still love ya! Oh, I'm sorry, I hate winter. We are having summer instead of spring, but that is so much better than more winter. Porkpal |

I still like the blooms after they fade. It gives them a multi-color effect. This is now my favorite of everything I've got growing in my yard. It just surprised me how unique and tough they are. |

Gloria - I understand where ya comin' from.. this weekend it was in the 70s and now it's in the 50s w/a touch of snow on Saturday. But, you know what, I'll take it.. I need the moisture! It rained/hailed yesterday, but the hail was so small it didn't damage anything. Our first thunderstorm of the year! :) Roses are one of my passions! We badly need rain. I guess I'd even settle for snow if it got it done quickly. Porkpal |

Clint, I love edging rose beds with Walker's Low. I agree, I think it goes great with Easy Does it. I grew it near Golden Celebration. And now it edges Papillon, Caldwell Pink, and Orfeo. When you dance with nature, try not to step on her toes. |

Steve - I bought a "Walking on Sunshine" this year. I think I'll put it around that one too. I have Russian Sage on the other side of Easy Does It. Those three plants look great together. There is also an Echinacea "Flamethrower" in there. |
