So how do I know if my rose hips are pollinated and will bear seeds?

The old rose hips look like the new ones. I'm guessing they will get swollen later. Is there any way to tell?

If a rose hip grows, the flower was pollinated. If it was not, the stem will dry and the old dead rose flower will fall off.
