Hello everyone! My avocado tree is showing lots of brown dots. Trying to do research online to figure out what exactly is happening and how to treat. Sounds like it could be mites? Anyone have experience in this? Is it a lost cause or how can we treat? Also, what will happen? Thank you!

Welcome!

Yes, it looks like persea mites:

I usually get the Avocado aphids on mine but they do not do enough damage to worry. After they are gone the tree grows new leaves and the aphids completely disappear.

Thank you, everyone, for your input so far. I am probably going to have an arborist come check out the tree too. Smiling

Kevalsha, do your leaves look like this also?

Kevalsha is talking about aphids, not mites. How big is your tree? After reading the link I posted, I was wondering if you could pick every leaf off the tree and let it leaf out again.

It's a pretty big tree so unfortunately can't pick off all of the leaves myself. Sad
