Thread OP

I'm very new to carnivorous plants and I got a VFT a couple months ago. It's always been almost droopy. Never really looking quite healthy, although I thought that was the type of vft I got. Anyways, roots started coming out of the bottom a few weeks ago. I've been lazy and haven't repotted and the roots are turning brown from sitting in water and one of the traps has died.

Should I repot this, also how much bigger, do I use only sphagnum moss?

Thanks in advance!!

Your plant is healthy and it would be a mistake for you to repot it. If you leave the pot sitting in water, that will cause roots to find their way into the water. That does not mean they are looking for more room.

Perfect, thank you!! As for the root turning black, should I just trim it and cut off the dead trap?
Yesterday the dead trap was yellow and today it's all black.
