So there are 3 different kinds of plants here. All look like dandelion.

Some are just a "little" off...

Which one is the dandelion and how can you tell? I used to be able to spot them a mile away. But it's been a while since I went dandelion hunting. Now I'm so confused. I'm not even sure if the ones I thought were dandelions are dandelions. Shrug!

The last two pics, I'm pretty sure are/were dandelions. I think I may have thrown half a dozen dandelions away. Crying

Hahaha I got way too into my head. Thank you. I was going crazy. I thought I only collected dandelions for that bucket. I saw the different leaves and I hadn't been dandelion hunting for a while... and I confused myself. Got inside my own head. If someone else can please verify/confirm that would make me feel a whole lot better!

@plantladylin
Sorry for "@"ing you...
I've read your past posts, and I just saw that you have the ATP Dandelion picture. So I was wondering if you might be able to confirm/verify if these are all dandelions.

plantladylin is very active as are several on that list, but most are back east so it's late when you posted. Sharon is no longer with us.

I have difficulty comparing photos for identification, I usually just make wild guesses. Since I'm in Florida, I'm not familiar with plants that grow in California but my first thought was either Hawksbeard (Youngia or Crepis): https://garden.org/plants/sear... or Dandelion (Taraxaum) https://garden.org/plants/brow... but again, those are just wild guesses. LOL, I just read the other posts and Tofi and Leftwood are great plant identifiers so I'd go with Dandelion!

Those are all dandelions. (well, except the one that looks like a shoe and a plastic bag? I couldn't find any plants there Hilarious! )
Leaf shape can vary with how old the plant is, and the conditions it is growing it. That's probably what's throwing you off.

Ok thank you all.
I threw away about half a dozen because I thought they were something else. D'Oh!

Wow that light pink hawksbeard looks pretty. And it has the leaves.

Unfortunately all of these seeds were taken from a plant with yellow flowers that went to seed. I know that much for certainty. So I would be surprised, but happy and in awe, if any of them sprouted pink.

Thank you all
