I was planning to plant some aubrieta. I just watched a video on planting it and I think I am many weeks too late to plant. I was planning to just to plant it outside, pushing it beneath the level of the soil and just watering like crazy.

Aubretia can take a couple of years to thrive and so its ok to plant now without delay. However Aubretia doesn't like wet feet so allow some dry time between waterings. Good luck and happy gardening.
