Hello all, I just bought my first house and have zero gardening experience, i had several( of what im sure are dumb questions) if anybody has the time.

Can i start Black Pansey's in a 3" Jiffy pot? The kind that is just inserted pot and all into a prepared soil bed.
I read somewhere on here Pansey roots can burn easily, what chemicals/organics should i look out for buying potting and ultimately, garden soil ? The Jiffy brand has lime, so i suppose it's out of the question?

I have had rose seeds in the fridge going through stratification for a bout two weeks and of course, it will be at least another 2-3 months before / if they mature. Is September too late in the season to plant in an outdoor bed with specialized soil and anti-fungal treatment? I reside in Zone 6B according to the map.

I am not the person to ask about the pansies. I do mine in fall, in my warmest flowerbed, so they bloom off and on, over winter, into spring.
