Hi all, newbie here. I acquired this plumeria, supposed to be 3-5 years old. I never noticed the trunk until someone pointed out to me that they thought it was sunburn? Thought id see what others thought.

First photo is actually a hole I noticed after it got home that I'm watching. No idea what it is.

I also want to plant it in the ground. It should have a great root system at this age right?

It looks like sunburn to me
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.
