when does a lemon tree get bark? I have grown a small lemon tree from seed, it now has 14 leaves and its trunk is getting thicker. My question is, after how many months after planting does it get bark and a hard trunk, and how many leaves does it have when it gets bark, for the people who grew a lemon tree from seed, after how long did yours get bark?
Thanks for your help!

When a plant is in seedling stage the plant is mostly producing roots for support in the future. When it leaves seedling stage and begins vegetative it is mostly producing leaves and stems at a rapid rate. As a plant grows older, the outer protective tissue undergoes certain changes and becomes bark. I think it can take about 2 to 3 years to get bark and 6 years to get fruit on your lemon tree.
NOT A EXPERT! Just a grow worm! I never met a plant I didn’t love.✌
