Hi—Does anyone know the cause of these tiny white spots on the top of some rose leaves? Mites or something else like a disease or deficiency? I am asking for a friend, but I noticed some on one or two of my roses as well. Thank You!

This looks like some kind of insect damage. They chew/suck on the undersides of the leaves and create those spots. Check the bottoms of the leaves, especially at the stems where they connect to the canes, and see if there's any kind of bugs.

They look a bit like spider mite damage.

Thank you for the responses. The bottom of the leaves look almost perfect, although i did see a little white speck on the underneath of two leaves. I guess mites can be microscopic, even too small to see. The leaf came from an OGR. It was almost completely dried out a couple of hrs. later before I posted the pic.
