I have had a red hot poker plant for about 3 years and this year the buds are coming through damaged everyone of them. Can anyone suggest what is causing this please. Thankyou.

Can you post a photo of the plant growing out of the ground?

What kind of location are they in? A photo would be very helpful.

I am afraid I am no good at that sort of thing but will try to get someone in my family to help with a photograph but it is just in the front of an ordinary garden bed and has a lot of sun when it is out, I live in the South East of England so get reasonable weather no adverse conditions, the tips of the buds come through as it they have been nibbled at. I originally had it in a large pot and it flowered beautifully with no trouble.
