This thread is to keep track of my Daughter Lakyn and I rose breeding. This first round we selected our pollen donor as a mature 8 year old Winchester Cathedral. Hoping with it being many petaled sport of a pink many petaled Mary Rose. We will get seedlings with a lot of petals. Instead of 5-7 petaled roses. We will be pollinating the following with it.

Ring of Fire(HT)
Tess of the D'urberville(English)
Fragrant Cloud(HT)
Chrysler Imperial(HT)
Carding Mill(English)
Dick Clark(Grandiflora)
Mr. Lincoln(HT)
Scentimental(Floribunda)

We selected these because of the high fragrance and large blooms. Feel free to post your breedings in here as well. We have our WC pollen removed and drying out. We will pollinating tomorrow. With more pictures to follow.

I think it is neat that this breeding project is a joint effort!

Scentimental is a bad seed parent, rarely forms any. It's pollen is decent though.
Anyone with oryzalin (aka Surflan, Embargo), am looking for a small amount rather than 5litres from manufacturer (min size in Australia....)

Thanks for the info. I'll swap it out with something else.

Our first selection picked by my daughter. We are using Winchester Cathedral for pollen. And we are pollinating our Blaze Improved climber. Our Blaze Improved is very strong scented for some reason. So we are gonna pollinate it. She said she wants to see if it adds petals to the babies. And stripes it lol. So we will see lol.
We let our pollen dry for 24hrs.
Our seed mother Blaze Improved
We removed the petals and stamens so it doesnt pollinate itself. Crossing Fingers! Crossing Fingers! Crossing Fingers! we find something pretty.
