Greetings. This is my first post.
I have noticed one of my new creeper vines having three leafed leaflets. The same vine, adjacent to the stalk has three and five leafed leaflets. All my other creeper have five leaflets that I have noticed.

Anything strange about this?

Are you sure the 3-leafed stems are attached to the 5-leafed stems? Like above ground so you know for sure? Take another photo of the 3-leafed stems (yours is blurry) but don't touch it.

I think it's normal. I have lots of virginia creeper and sometimes there are three leaflets on the same vine as 5. I think it's the immature ones. I also get poison ivy so I always make sure I follow the 3 leaved vine to see if any are 5. Poison ivy never has 5 leaves.

I did a visual and as far as my eyes can tell, the 3/5 leaflet vine is definitely growing dierctly from a vertical trunk/stem. This location is depicted by the small stick with the arrow.
