I'll need some clues (location) for #1, 2, 3, 5, and 9. They look like so many of my roses. I think #2 might be World Peace and #3 might be Hot Romance. If it's any help, I think I remember you taking photos of Heartbeat and Sisters at Heart. #4 is Ann Henderson. #6 is O'Rilla. #7 is Peacekeeper. #8 is Double Feature. #10 is Persian Peach. |

totally adore Cocktail. Zu do you grow as shrub or climber? How wicked are the thorns? Post #647429, name of red rose w/ white underside? is it a mini? Iris right next to it. White w/ blue pin dots. very unusual. Brown Velvet has been on my list several times but it never makes the short list. Too much competition, I guess, with a million other pretties. |
That's one of the tiny Persian roses Nery, Zuzu will have to fill in the name but my guess is Persain Flame. http://www.helpmefind.com/rose... I have a picture of her Persian Autumn too but it came out blurry and had holes in it. http://www.helpmefind.com/rose... ![]() It's a Hybrid Hulthemia, which by the way, I was recently gifted with a tiny Hulthemia seedling from a So. Cal. hybridizer, it just opened it's first bloom a couple of days ago. It's maybe 1/2" small. ![]() |

Holy guacamole do I love this rose... and the shot is SOOOOOOOOOOOO artsy-fartsy.. that's what makes me want it even more. LOL Roses are one of my passions! That might be Persian Sunset, Toni. It has more petals than the other ones. I think the blooms on the Persian roses are about one and one-half inches across. They're small. I just took a quick walk around the garden and I think I found these. #1 is Peggy M; #2 is World Peace; #3 is Hot Romance; #5 is Dr. Debat; and #9 is Mary Magdalene. Yes, Sue, come back right away. I swear, a hundred more started blooming overnight. including some that are blooming here for the first time, like Mark Sullivan. Wow! What a gorgeous rose! The Endeavour is looking incredible. Persian Autumn put out some pink blooms that are really striking next to the orange ones. |

Is Expressions blooming for you? Mine died last year... Roses are one of my passions! Just opened, my Etsy shop (to fund my rose hobby)! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Tweet... |
Mine isn't blooming yet, Toni, but it is weaker than most roses, isn't it? I have two or three good canes left and the others have all died back to ground level. |

oooh so pretty! My order from pickering is in transit and I discovered today that I have a Laguna in the yard in addition to the one i ordered. I really should have ordered some of the Persian series instead. Too bad you didn't post those pics sooner. Guess that saved me some money, though. ![]() Wonder if Burlington has those? Zuzu your garden is just stunning. Do you deliberately plant iris and roses with color matching in mind? Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get. H. Jackson Brown, Jr. |
The next ordering season will be here before you know it, Cindi. I think Pickering starts taking orders in September for next year. Thanks for the thought that I plant with color coordination in mind. I really don't. I just try to find a space big enough for whatever I'm planting, and when I find that space, that's where the plant goes. I do try not to have two roses of the same color right next to each other, but even that plan doesn't work because some roses are mislabeled and others end up looking nothing like the "official" description. I firmly believe nothing in nature clashes, so I'm not bothered by orange plants next to red or pink ones. |

Zuzu I just sent another email to Burling asking if she had any of the Persian series. I also sent her another order. Hope she is still shipping. My order from a month ago is growing so fast. One was pruned by a rabbit and it has sent up several new branches! Every time I see pics of your garden, i find more I have to have. We're in a horrible drought, so that does commit me to hours of watering, but those blooms are so worth it. ![]() Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get. Cindi, if Burling doesn't carry them, she should. They're her kind of rose. She even carries Euphrates, a hybrid hulthemia that's much harder to find. We are in a perennial drought here as far as gardening season is concerned because there's never any rain between April and November, so I wouldn't know how to garden without hours of watering each day. ![]() Sorry I failed to respond to some earlier posts. Mike, I wish you could come back in May sometime. There really isn't much to see in February -- just the bones. This year Carol (AlohaHoya) and Jane (DonkeyJay) were here the week after you, and they saw nothing but the bones too. We need to have a big garden party here in May. Gloria, you're definitely invited. Nery, I grow Cocktail as a shrub, but it wants to be a climber. I've never really noticed the thorns. |
