I can confirm that -- sweet "irisy" scent to this cultivar.
Its odd, but i have a sensitive nose, and irises that have a strong or definite scent are of interest to me.
This seedling of mine ---
Terracotta Bay X Strut Your Stuff
has a strong, almost lilac scent to it.

but getting back to the dark bitone topic -- my most powerful grower in the neglecta/bitone category of blues and violets is Whale's Tale -- (Schreiner '12)
has a light, almost candy corn smell to it. :)
