Irises--started with just a few of the shorties, MDB and SDB, tucked in the rocks where some fancy plant died, loved 'em, got more...and more...tried Arilbreds and I'm hopelessly smitten. Just ripped out the parking strip "grass" for an expansion. And now I also have to have a bunch more of the regular talls than I have any business wanting Hilarious! so making room to the north.
But, they all do so very well here Sticking tongue out and it sure beats thistles!
Although, the bees probably prefer the thistles Sighing! still have to keep the bees happy so there will be much other interspersed.

Thanks so much for those beautiful pics! And the great ideas! Our problem in the winter is a lot of rain. I have the Spanish lavender; when I planted
it I put it in the highest corner of the garden and amended the dirt with half sand.... I never water it, that's how I manage to keep it alive. Winter rot from too much rainfall has killed many a lavender here... and also the two agastaches I tried one time. My friends site is elevated, so I think winter rot not so much of a problem. Thumbs up
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.
