Noticed today that Neoregelia 'Smithii' is in top coloration as it approaches the flowering stage.

My Vreisea corcovadensis has produced her first stolonifeious pup. I look forward to many more pups it is known to produce.

This is xNEOPHYTUM 'Cosmic Blast' by Chester Skotak and Eloise Beach, I bought it from Eloise in late 2017. She is usually at the fall Meade Garden plant sale and Spring Leu Gardens plant sale.

Oh... and if you blow that pic up, you can see my B. Casa Blanca behind it, two whole stalks were chewed down by a Lubber grasshopper, which also chomped on the B. Sangre next to it, but I caught it before it damaged that one as much. Grumbling

Circle of Life!

Those little flowers didn't last long!
Wish large flower pod had more flowers! So I will be happy I was able to see the flowers it did produce!
Thumb of 2020-07-10/hiyall/4d33fd

Then looked at Ae Del Mar. I had seen 2 pups, then saw 3, today I spied 4, just wish for more!

I think I see a pattern, always want more! More blooms! More pups!

Guess I will learn to appreciate the ones I do have to enjoy! Smiling

TT, you might try putting some more water into the cup of your bloomer, there. Usually they produce a few new flowers each day for weeks. But the cup needs to have water in it to keep it going.

Elaine, thanks for tip to refill cup with water! We had a few days of showers that probably helps blooms
After few days of no rain, they dry out quickly! I added water and am happy to see two more blooms!

Also saw a garden guest! Smiling

I've been watching this plant for a week now, and it's really got me puzzled. This is one of my many Billbergia pyramidalis 'Kyoto' and as you can see her sisters behind look pretty much normal, nice dark green leaves with white borders.

Anybody got an idea what's happening here? I've had these plants for at least 10 years, and none have ever had leaves that look like this.

Nice looking 'Kyoto' sport Elaine.
Watch for look alike pups from that sport. Definitely one to watch to see what the future holds for that beauty.

LoOok what I found. This poor Wendii has been so unhappy, it kept falling out of it's pot. I finally decided since it did not have any roots to speak of to just mount it. It has only been there for about 3 weeks and there was no hint of a spike when I put it in the tree. Looks like it could use some water though, I'll have to watch that until it gets established.
