Not unusual, every once in a while a daylily can throw out a poly bloom. Thumbs up

'Barbara Mitchell' can produce many strange flowers as well as its normal flower here. It can produce flowers with extra petals or stamens, with various growths on its petals, with "wings" on its stamens and so on. It does that on some of the flowers it opens during the early part of its flowering season and then settles down to producing normal flowers.
That tendency is probably why it produced 'Bee's Bettie Sue' when crossed with 'Joan Senior.
