I was invited to participate in this forum by Marti. I live in Southern California and grow a lot of roses here -- specializing in miniatures and polyanathas. Plus I propagate all of them to trade with my online friends. I have started adding photos and comments to the database and will continue. Is there a way to show all of the roses I grow on this website -- as I can on HMF? If not that's OK. I look forward to being part of this interesting group. Danty Dan |

Welcome Dan, There are two ways to share photos here. The first is to post them to threads. The second is to post to the online database. Posting to Threads 1) Make sure your cursor is in the edit box that is used to type messages. (voice of experience) 2) Click on "Upload and Image" " 3) Select (click on) the file you want to upload (note that images not larger than about 800 pixels on a side upload pretty quickly bigger ones can be much slower) 4) Optional: click "Preview" to make sure it was uploaded correctly 5) Click finished Posting to the Database 1) Click on Plant Database button in the main menu at the top of the page. 2) Type in the name of the cultivar 3) Select the cultivar from the list presented ( It may be a list of one item. Or it may be more.) 4) Find near the bottom of the page an entry called Adding Actions 5) Click on Upload Photo. 6) Find the photo file on your computer and select it. 7) Fill in the form describing the photo. 8) Hit Submit Photo button. And thanks for asking. It's the first time I've posted to the database and I wanted to know how to do that, too. When you dance with nature, try not to step on her toes. |

Hi, Danty. I'm so glad you followed up on Marti's invitation. ![]() I see that you already added a photo and comment a couple of days ago, so if you mean something like the HMF list, you can do that here too. Just go to the entry for each rose you own and click on the blue box saying "Add this plant to your list" on the right margin of the page. |

Hi Danty! Welcome! I had never been to So California until my daughter moved there a year ago. Her rental house had roses, so she called to ask my help in identifying them. I didn't believe her descriptions until I saw them in person. The roses I grow here are easily twice that size in her San Diego climate. I'm wondering if your minis are the size of our Hybrid Teas? ![]() Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get. H. Jackson Brown, Jr. |

I'd be interested in Roller Coaster, Abracadabra, Verdun, International Herald Tribune, & Playgold... I could do unrooted cuttings of many roses if you want them. It'd have to be spring, I'd be afraid that I'd be sending you dead canes (end of season for me) Roses are one of my passions!
