There are many Hybridizers introducing many gorgeous DL's. Do you have a favorite Hybridizer or multiple Hybridizers. I'm growing many Bill Marriot's DLs and love them. I'm also getting smitten with the pictures of Karol Emmerich's DLs and may order some next year. Who's DLs take your fancy?

I think my favorite daylily Hybridizer this year has been Guy Pierce. I bought more of his plants than any other grower.
I have been mostly interested in high bud count and high branch count, and when I happen to find that along with a beautiful boom that shows sculpted relief, well I find it hard to turn away. 'My Friend Phil' as a pollen parent gave me more seeds I think than anything else. I have been very pleased so far with all the blooms on the plants I got from him, but the scapes still have to get better for be to really appreciate them.
'My Friend Phil': Disappointed that the relief did not show much on a lot of the blooms, but being this was the first year I am hoping for a better show. Next year.

'Applique Prism': Most of my plants have had pretty plain looking blooms so with some of the G. Pierce plants I bought I tried to fancy them up a bit.

'Bragging Rights': Another I bought from G. Piece. I wanted to do a lot of crosses with this but only manged to get a few this first year.

This is just a few showing an example of the types of plants he creates.

Primal Scream was the one that got me into daylilies and having had the pleasure of going to Curts place a handful of times I am extremely impressed with his plants. And he's a ton of fun. But he has some very unique stuff.

That being said, I've found daylilies from all kinds of different hybridizers that I really like. I even like several of mine! I don't pay much attention to the names of the folks who bring out new plants. I typically have to Google them.

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.
