Is anyone growing a Hoya Carnosa Kringle 8??

Saw a photo of this plant recently and just love the look. Would love to grow one.

I have one. It's pretty small. Sat like a plastic plant for MONTHS until this summer. Then started to grow leaves. I have it in my east window in small orchid bark. Sits on a humidty tray.


Shouldn't be too expensive to find.

I have never heard of or seen this variety of Hoya until just recently. It has such a unique look and I'd love to add it to my meager collection. If at some time, you would consider trading a small cutting I'm sure I could offer up something that might appeal to you.

I had one years ago; haven't seen them around in a long while.

I recently came across this plant on an auction site in New Zealand. The plant is not nearly as large as the one you pictured, and the current bid is $1500.00. Not sure how that equates to US dollars.

I just googled for the conversion: $1500.00 New Zealand dollars = $1,007.96 U.S. dollars!

It amazes me what some people consider paying for certain plants nowadays!! I never thought of Hoya carnosa 'Krinkle 8' as anything special. Back when Hermann Englemann Greenhouse was still in operation here in Florida, many of their Exotic Angel Hoyas could be found for sale at all the big box stores! I guess when Mr. Englemann passed and the family sold the business to Costa Farms, Hoyas went by the wayside because I don't see many at all anymore.

Bob Smoley has Krinkle for $12. I recently purchased 3 plants from him and they were all very nice for the price. Rooted cuttings in 4" pots. He's in Florida. Look him up. If I had enough plant to give you a piece, I would! Lin, yours is amazing!

LOL, that photo is 12 years old, I no longer have that plant.

Thanks Peggy, I forgot all about Bob Smoley. I'll definitely order one (and maybe a couple others) .
