So lovely! Hopefully, an introduction is born. Hurray! to me the color is a sunlit cranberry with a golden straw eye and ruffle.

It has a definite double edge. The soft yellow outer edge with a light lilac inner edge. Bright red veins. The eye is interesting i see an array of colors in it. I really like this flower. Still wondering did it open well?

Sorry, I thought I answered this. It opened beautifully. The second bloom was not as perfectly formed. The weather has been getting cooler. There may be another bloom to come but it's getting quite cold now and I'll have to see if that affects it much.

It is a little premature, but it is prettier than its famous pollen parent in my eyes. I am giving you five 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟🌟 on this one. It obviously have vigor to bloom in your zone on such a short notice. Pat do you use a greenhouse or do you start them indoors ?

This blooming on such short notice is a new thing for me. I started most of my seeds indoors at the very end of January, beginning of February and grew them under lights near a picture window until it was not freezing. After that they went on the glassed in porch until some time in April when I put them into the raised beds.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions. I've used them and come up with this. Does it work?

Pale cranberry with red veins. There is a very ruffled soft yellow outer edge with an inner edge of pale lilac. The eye is a blend of sunlit peach and soft yellow over a small green and sunshine yellow throat.

This description sounds pretty good! The bloom is stunning, and the edge is just scrumptious. What an inspired cross. I would never think of crossing those two. I hope this one does very well for you!

Um...this one qualifies for the name Cranberry Lemonade for sure. And now I'll go search for that and find it's taken lol.

Edit: it's not!
Hardy hibiscus are a hobby, but daylilies are an obsession.

Thanks Paul. I would have to thank the camera, which I set on auto and the right light conditions on that day because I am really clueless and get mostly photos with too much sunlight on the flowers. Lucky shot!

Thanks Ken. I'll add that name to my long list of possible daylily names and let it "marinate."

I really appreciate your help and that of everyone here. You are all good daylily friends.

You know, Pat is the hybridizer of one of my very favorite daylilies -- the diploid MIDSUMMER TRANQUILITY. I was so lucky to contact her just at the right time and was able to get the most beautiful DF in the spring -- and I now have quite a few seeds ready to plant using MT as both the pod and pollen parent. YEA!!! Hurray!

Pat gives a lot of thought into her daylily names, so I'm sure this beauty will have a really good one.

Lovely green throat and ruffles! It reminds of a ballet costume I wore as a kid that was green and pink... we were supposed to be Columbines.
I'm looking forward to seeing how all of Pats seedlings do in my yard next year... I received several boxes of them in August and they are all doing great and settling in nicely. No fears, I will be posting pictures!
