I received my Daylily Journal yesterday, and I was excited to see that Guy and Karen Pierce of Floyd Cove Nursery have a two-page ad which shows 10 of their new 2021 introductions! They are absolutely beautiful, and I think quite reasonably priced for new annual introductions. And I understand that they will be posting their new intros (48!) from time to time in Facebook with descriptions as well as on their website.

www.floydcovenursery.com

I'm a huge fan of Floyd Cove/Guy Pierce daylilies, as you can tell, and they always send incredible plants -- my favorite! Thumbs up And I'm thrilled that they are showing some of their new intros so early -- just whets my appetite! I know I already want KILLER GREEN BANANAS and possibly ALWAYS JIGGY and WINE COUNTRY from this first set... Hurray!

I hope you all are AHS members and receive the Daylily Journal -- I think this quarterly publication alone is worth the $25 annual membership fee!

Betty, I received my copy of The Daylily Journal and loved it from cover to cover. Seeing the 2021 intros was a punch of hope that next year will bring good things.

So, Floyd Cove has now posted their first ten 2021 intros on their website, including descriptions -- and there will be many more to come! Fantastic!

If you don't get the 2021's at first, you may need to clear your cache first -- I had to.

I totally agree about WINE COUNTRY - fabulous looking bloom! But unfortunately the really dark ones don't do very well in my area because of the heat. They're always faded looking. Sad But I sure love it...

Same here. Dark colors melt by noon. I really like the name and flower of "My Favorite Martian". It is a great name for this flower. Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Betty,

Thank you for passing that overwhelming feeling to the rest of us. Rolling on the floor laughing I can't imagine the work involved in coming up with 48 new introductions! It makes me tired just thinking about it, but not too tired to buy four of them....lol. I am still on the fence on that "white" one, not really knowing what to cross with it, while the other side of my brain....the drooling side tells me to get it because white is a great clarifier and therefore would cross with everything!

I am weak,

Steve

Betty,

Many years ago I mentioned on this forum that if you were going to jump into daylilies with both feet, you needed to surround yourself with folks that shared your enthusiasm. Also important is to have a few close friends that help you feel like you've practiced restraint even when you know in your heart of hearts that you overspent.

Thank you, Betty! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

YEA!!!!!! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Yeah, I overspent the max I'd set for myself by well over $200 -- talk about restraint? Well, I didn't jump over it by $500, did I?

EDIT: Added Shock and Awe (thanks to Betty) this week and when I originally ordered I got White Rhino as well. May add one more before I get my order in March! Can't wait. It will be my first year of daylilies and first blooms.

PS: I spoke to them about Wine Country and they have had good luck with it not fading in the sun/heat. We shall see! I'll post when it blooms.
