Thread OP

I am a houseplant newbie and I have been learning about and buying houseplants for the past couple of months. A month ago, I went to this nursery in SoCal and bought a small baby Hoya carnosa Krimson Queen. It looked healthy because it had two new soft leaves, but it was very small (first picture). I brought it home and have been giving it very bright indirect light and watering it when the soil is dry. However, after this month , it hasn't put out any new leaf. I have only noticed that the two stems have grown slightly. Perhaps I am not giving it the right conditions, but I don't know what to do at this point. I also have a more mature hoya publicalyx that I bought a few weeks ago and it has been putting out a lot of new growth. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Lioneys, Welcome!

Your Krimson Queen Hoya (Hoya carnosa 'Tricolor') is a very juvenile plant and this is the time of year when plants normally begin slowing down and taking a rest during the fall and winter months. Continue to care for it as you have been doing and next year during late spring and through the summer months your little plant will likely take off and put on a lot of growth!
