This is one of a few types of ferns in my garden of mysteries.

Ferns from pics are really hard.
There are loads and many look pretty similar.
I love ferns and grow many, but find iding them incredibly difficult.
To be accurate it is often needed to look closely on the back of the fern. The sori there are where the spores are contained...the tiny blobs. Each fern species has a different pattern often id needs to see this.

Christmas Fern (Polystichum acrostichoides) is a very good possibility. It is native to our area. However, like Silversurfer mentions, ferns are difficult to identify so I won't make any promises that my ID is correct! Smiling
