We came from here
The thread "Our Orchid blooms in November 2020" in Orchids forum

Another month flew by and here we are looking at Dec 1. and a vaccine on the horizon!! Things are looking up! Smiling
Let me start with a semi repeat/ update from last month - Fdk After Dark 'Sunset Valley Orchids' opened both spikes completely without dropping any buds. Whew! Smiling This is such an exciting Orchid, I loved watching this one slowly opening. Top note is fragrant pine needles to my nose.

One of my Onc Sharry Baby pots is smelling nicely of Chocolate and Vanilla
Thumb of 2020-12-01/Ursula/7c7620
C Chocolate Drop 'Kodama' opened another, smaller, spicy fragrant spike

And here is a new-comer, Trichopilia fragrans, the scent is very pretty and delicate

Please all post away, including those happy lurkers which pop up every so often in other threads! We like to see you! Smiling

Getting there. The reds are still holding their own and Shinfong should be fully open tomorrow. First time blooming for the Shinfong.

Happy December everyone!
Ursula , what a nice start to the month you have there. Your new Trichopilia fragrans is really interesting, the flowers look very fragile...and Chocolate Drop, with such a perfect cluster of blooms! Lovey dubby
Ceci, your nobile is just LOADED with flowers...so pretty!
My new addition on my growing space that is seasonally enclosed had it's first real test last night. Our low temperature (36) arrived around 2am. With the plastic sides zipped down and a small oscillating heater it has kept the space at 52 degrees. So now I know I will have to drag at least the Vanda plants in if it gets much colder this winter. But this little V. Weeravan is happy enough with 3 spikes at the same time!

That "habitat" looks so professional too. Thumbs up You just gottta love that little Weeravan. If I ever wanted to have another Vanda it would be that one.

This DenPhal bloomed for 6 months last year and it started opening right on time again this year. It has 7 spikes so far. It was a Fresh Market find. I brought it inside last night because of this freaky cold weather.

Just love those Den phals, and yours is a beautiful color, Alice. I found one in bloom yesterday when I was collecting up the troops to bring indoors, too. This was a little $3 bargain plant from Apopka a couple of years ago, and did already bloom in the spring, but here it is with a bonus flower stem growing on a new keiki.

Vandas in to the shower this morning for watering. Little V. Josephine van Brero x Thongchai Gold has both flowers open, and my phal wreath has a huge spike on the biggest plant, too!

Love the color on your bargain plant Elaine and your wreath is pretty cool. The white orchid lounging in the tub looks pretty comfortable.

Not quite there, but the first of three buds is almost unfurled. I've got a Little Stars opening up too.

I may have another variety of B. Little Stars. The Takasaki name is associated with Carmela Orchids in Hawaii, Ursula. These flowers are much daintier than previous Little Stars that I've had.

A better photo of my Little Stars. These flowers max out at only around 3" in diameter. So far I see no damage to any my plants after a couple of mornings with temperatures in the mid to low 40's.
