Some time ago I purchased wooden markers for my roses. It didn't take long for them to rot. I'm looking for metal markers that have a surface large enough to write long rose names that will not wash off in the rain. I looked on Amazon and there are 100's of choices. It's bewildering.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I use these:

Collector series stainless steel

Label with the Ptouch UV resistant clear tape with black lettering, so far good for 5+ years hot cold snow rain

Those are really quite nice !
I always wondered what ever happened to those little metal tags, that used to be attached (with something like a simple twist tie,) with Rose name already embossed on the tag, from the supplier...

I was prepared to purchase the metal plant markers from Kincaid, but when I went to finalize my purchase they wanted to charge me $71.00 to ship them thru the post office. I found similar ones on Amazon that were significantly cheaper with free shipping. My guess is that the Kincaid markers are probably superior, but I won't patronize companies that inflate the cost of shipping.

Crawgarden, thanks for your recommendation which was instrumental in leading to the plant markers I purchased.

Glad it was of help, just looked at my receipt, I ordered 2 paks, 48 total and the shipping was 16.95 for Mn, prob costs more to ship to HI, I'm guessing.

I have been buying and selling from the mainland using the post office for over 20 years. I did a study a few years ago and found that you can ship from the midwest to Hawaii for about the same price as shipping from the East to West Coast. It is not that unusual for companies to overcharge for shipping to Hawaii. That's why Amazon is so attractive. East Coast Hardware ships to Hawaii with free shipping. It used to be that Heirloom Roses used to offer free UPS shipping on orders over $65. I purchased a lot of roses from them. Then one day as I went to finalize my order I found that they not only charged me actual UPS costs for shipping but added a $50 dollar "surcharge." I complained to Heirloom customer service, noting that I spent over $2000 in the past year. They would not bend.

I tried the plant markers you stick in the ground but somehow they always get lost or mixed up. Now I buy the kind I can tie on the plant.

I use my PTouch labeler and I can reuse the tags. I have some that are over 10 years old now and they are still legible. Mine are copper but I've seen aluminum ones too. I can't find these fancy ones anymore but Amazon has some plain ones I've ordered and they work just as well.
