I want to force dormancy on my indoor tree. It just finished flowering for the first time last month as well as put out three new branches that are still all actively putting out new growth. It is under a grow light so can I just turn it off or should I decrease slowly? Do I cut leaves or let it drop them? It will go under my house which is above freezing but cold. Any suggestions? Thank you.

If it's indoors with light, why not let it grow all winter? I don't put mine to sleep at all and it hasn't damaged them in any way. If you're going to put it under the house, just do it. No need to remove leaves or anything.

Thank you for the reply! I am not able to keep it in my space this winter otherwise I would keep it going!

It will be perfectly fine going dormant for the winter. I'm always anxious to get plants going again in the Spring. Good luck, and please show us pics when you have blooms!
