I bought this bare root in bloom early June from a fellow Texan and potted it up when I got home. As acquired: 35" scape, 18 bc, 3 way branching, pod/pollen fertile.

The potted plant died/rotted after accumulated ice from freezing rain, 10" snow, -6F and 200+ hours below freezing in the mid February 2021 extreme weather. Cannot judge in ground longevity.

I did get some seedlings using the pollen.
