Hmm, it works for me. But maybe now what works on iPad doesn't even work on iPhones.

On my Android phone the navigation bar now covers the top of the screen, I can't see the NGA logo, cover picture or what I'm typing here while I type it.

Plants SuperMod

Unfortunately the menu bar issue Sue mentions has existed for some time, but up until the addition of more icons it was only occuring on my oldest phone (smallest display).

@dave, might I suggest looking at a few different methods of displaying the menu on mobile devices? First thought is to make the pane horizontally scrollable, but that may mess up the rest of the page scrolling behaviour and users may not realise they can drag it left or right. Another option would be to fix it in place at the top of the page (rather than hovering over the logo, etc.) so that if you scroll down, it disappears off the top of the page. I haven't looked at the current CSS, so I'm not sure how complicated that would be, but I know from experience how tricky those sorts of things can be (especially with multi-platform, multi-browser support! At least we don't have to deal with IE7 or IE8 anymore.).

@sooby I removed the search button from the navbar since it's not necessary after I restored the actual search box. You should have a normal looking bar now.

Trying to figure out why all the pictures I download are huge. I know there was a system upgrade which may have caused this issue. I can't see me posting to my blog or any of the threads on this site if I can't get this resolved. My wife took a shot at this as she has a masters in information technology and she is baffled. Anyone here able to assist or know who might be able to help?

The thumbnails are now larger. I noticed a few days ago that thumbnails don't display any longer within the same post in horizontal line up. Personally I don't think it looks as neat as previously when one posts a bunch of pics into a post, but if the trade off is larger thumbnails, I am not complaining.

@dave thanks, but it didn't make any difference, I have the same thing now but without the search icon, the other icons don't seem to have moved

Everything is working fine for me. I prefer the larger thumbnails, because now I don't have to click on every photo to see it properly.

Hello all and @dave

I liked the feature of being able to place two thumbnails side-by-side. I used it quite a lot, and considered it to be a good feature of this website. Actually, I think there could still be room to do that with some of the converted larger versions of older thumbnails.

That thin vertical line at the right-hand side of that screen capture marks the border or edge of the message field, and it looks to me like there is still room to place the larger thumbnails side-by-side. Actually, I think there may have been room to place three of the previous thumbnails side-by-side. I would like to have done that.

Obviously the thumbnail that I just pasted into this message could not exist side-by-side with a similar thumbnail. So now I am wondering--how big can an image thumbnail be, and what are the rules for producing a thumbnail from an image? This is a new larger "thumbnail" the same width as the one above. (Another of my "breeder" zinnias) And you can see an even larger photo by clicking on the "biggie" thumbnail. Thumbs up

Obviously I have to re-learn what I "knew" about posting photos inline in messages here.

I tip my hat to you.

Hello all and @dave

OK, now I am going to post a larger image to see how the thumbnail comes out.

Thumb of 2021-01-29/ZenMan/ae1d8e
OK, that image was 1500 pixels wide as compared to 1000 pixels wide for the previous photo, but the "biggie" thumbnail seems no larger. So this may be the maximum size for a "biggie" thumbnail. And, when you click on the image, to see the expanded view, you do seem to get a similar or identical "full size" image. That may depend on how you have your Browser set up. For Windows users, hitting your F11 key hides your Browser headings, and makes some more space available for your image. Hit your F11 key again to cancel that effect. Incidentally, that is another "breeder" zinnia of mine. Thumbs up

I gotta admit, I don't hate this new inline photo system. I strongly suspect that, if it were put to a vote among all the users of this site, this new system would win, hands down.

So, congratulations, Dave. You program good.

Garden.org Admin

Thanks ZM.

The image stuff is still a work in progress, though. I have pretty big plans to drastically improve how we do images here at Garden.org, both in the forums and the rest of the site. I'm also currently developing a brand new photo-sharing feature here where people can post photos into a community gallery for discussions, thumbs, and hashtags.

Any info as to why I can't access navigation on my iPhone?
And to that...I also can't add site emojis. I can add iPhone emojis, but not those on this site...🤔🧐😳
Just noticed that I can't give thumbs up anymore from my iPhone either!
Grrrr! @dave?
