Stunning! I refreshed the homepage, and saw the new banner. Immediately, I was blown away. Honor thy father and thy mother, do unto your neighbor as you would have them do unto you. (Mat. 19:19) WOLVES ARE AWESOME |

That is one tiny fly. Looks like it needs a road map. Very effective banner. I post high resolution photos (nature, travel, and other subjects) on smugmug https://arctangent.smugmug.com... |

Sue, I love this banner! Black and orange colors look great together. I believe the critter is a halictid bee. |
Thanks all! Laurie, I just looked that one up, it didn't have any stripes that I can remember, although some images show a very dark body, and also, it was very small, smaller than the images I found. Could also be some type of fly, don't know. I did find this cool North American bee chart, you can click on it to enlarge it, very cool! Had no idea there were that many. https://external-preview.redd.... My gardening Blog! Handmade quilts, face masks, new & vintage fabrics in my Etsy store. That is a cool bee chart! You know, if it is a pretty tiny insect, it may be a parasitoid wasp-- these guys (oops--gals!) lay eggs in other insects. The really tiny ones lay eggs in eggs of other insects. Parasitoid wasps for emerald ash borer: https://ky-caps.ca.uky.edu/pas... |
