In early September I emailed Ken after a number of people had written me concerned that the website hadn't been updated. He responded around Sept. 24th and wondered if Eureka had run its course in 22 years or if he should consider publishing a late version out in February. I did not think it was my place to suggest a course of action to him, but did suggest that whatever he decided, it would be the right thing to do to make some sort of public announcement, either on his website or the daylily robin, or both, informing his customers about his decision. He assured me he was going to do that soon, but unfortunately, he has still not followed through, as people still are wondering what is going on.
As a photographer and buyer of Eureka for many years, I will certainly miss looking through it and auctions won't be the same without hearing auctioneers say, "and the average Eureka value is..."
I still hope that Ken will make a public announcement for the sake of all his past customers. This also might clear the way for anyone else who is interested in coming up with some sort of alternative publication, either hard copy or online.
