This is a repost from a FB post by Scott Elliott...
"The Winners:
These are the winners of the seedling competition for the new Small and Miniature Daylilies book by AHS. More than 330 seedlings were entered by 63 different hybridizers from all over the world. The top 72 were chosen in a contest with more than 40 hybridizers voting. (They were not allowed to vote for their own seedlings.)
Small and Miniature Daylilies will be available some time in late spring or early summer.
Congratulations to the winners"

I recognize a couple of our own - Fred Manning and Pat Ball, congrats on the beautiful seedlings!
God blessed me with dirt.

There are some really beautiful blooms among those seedlings. I would love to see a seedling bed full of miniatures.

I just discovered this myself in the Facebook Hybridizers Nook and I want to add my congratulations to Spunky1 and Daylilly99 -- that's terrific! So proud of both of you! Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

There are absolutely incredible minis/smalls pictured here! Does Darrel Apps have a website, I wonder?... Fantastic seedlings!!! I recognize some of the other hybridizers -- Pat Stamile (Grace?), Scott Elliott, the Herringtons, Liz Salter, Kirsten Hatfield, Claudia Conway, Janice Kennedy, Mike Grossman -- but I'm really not familiar with the others.

And I'm especially thrilled because I now have recently sprouted seedlings from crosses I recently got thru the Lily Auction that I believe involve all four of Fred's seedlings as parents! Hurray!

Edit: Correction, only two of Fred's seedlings are parents among those crosses I bought -- but they're both fantastic!

They are absolutely gorgeous, but Scott said they don't know which are smalls and which miniatures. Some of the hybridizers won won are amateur backyard folks.

Betty-
Daryl's are available through Graziano Gardens in WI now (he doesn't do his own website) - unfortunately not listed on Charlotte's Daylily Diary site

Those look like some pretty nice Daylilies. I might have to consider adding some Daylilies to the gardens this year in Pots!!

Hurray! Yay to Pat and Fred and all the other hybridizers, many of whom are represented in our gardens already! Please consider growing enough of them to introduce them and make them available to the public! I, for one, love minis. Lovey dubby
