We got a new ficus last year and moved it into our house.
Most of the leaves fell off from the bottom up and now there are black "domes" all over the plant. There are some leaves still at the top that look healthy and new leaves are starting at the tops of most of the branches.
Any advice?

I believe you have scale insects. You even have a great pic of what appears to be the "honeydew" they produce.

Sorry, I'm not sure what to do about them. Someone else will have more input. I could only Google. Good luck!

It is hard to tell from the photos if those are scale insects. However, there is another more serious problem if it has lost mots of its leaves.

How far away is the nearest window?

How do you determine when to water and how much do you provide?

Please post a photo that shows the entire plant and its pot.
