I'm hoping they all show the vigor and rebloom of the parents, and the height of Apophis. Maybe even some pattern later from Creative Design. We shall see.

I agree it looks good for a first bloom, and considering the fact that it is so young, it is very good!

I once had a bloom on a seedling that was only a few months old, but it was just above the soil, and quite pale.

I don't want to hijack your thread, Tina, but I thought you might be interested in my experience with my precocious seedling.
Here is the thread:
The thread "Strange seedling growth" in Daylilies forum

Before I planted this little seedling outdoors in May, 2019, it had increased to three fans. It did not bloom again the first summer outdoors. It did survive its first winter, and last summer (second summer planted in the seedling bed) it bloomed.
Here are two photos of it from July, 2020 (please excuse the bit of pine needle on the second photo)

The brief discussion on camera date settings made me realize that almost all my good pictures are really old, taken when I worked for a living and took nice pictures on my time/days off. Now I'm retired I work (for free Rolling on the floor laughing ) in the garden and hardly have time to take pictures Hilarious! Don't get me wrong, I love working in the garden for both the physicality of it and the amazing pleasure and peace it gives me, although I'm not sure how I feel when my husband talks about me "playing" in the garden Thinking

The best way to make your hubby understand "playing in the garden" is to ask him to help. Mine got a dose of reality after "helping" me remove some sod for a garden expansion. He never offered to help with that again. It is a labor of love, but it's still labor/work. Every year I strive to make it easier, to work smarter not harder. Not much flat ground on our ten acres, but I'm steadily filling it up and leaving the un-mowable hill to ground cover and shrubs. I hadn't taken but a few pictures with the new camera, just to make sure it worked. Last camera did not have that function. Nice to have date/time on the pictures again.

Wow, this is fun, I love your maiden bloom too Tina! Amazing stuff from you and Valerie @touchofsky!

Yes it's all a labor (labour for our Canadians Lovey dubby ) of love and to @Vals_Garden, I feel your pain. My DH also thinks I'm playing and I surely have every Daylily I could possibly want. Oh, if he only knew how frugal I've been. Rolling on the floor laughing
God blessed me with dirt.

Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Well, having been divorced for ten years, I no longer have to worry about what my husband thinks of my garden spending habits. And in case anyone was wondering, no, that was not what drove us apart...

Tina, your wonder-bloom looks like a jewel among the green seedlings! How delightful!

And Valerie, you show there's hope for wonder-blooms' plants! Daylilies are amazing.

Spouses. My DH is a singer/songwriter in his spare time, and is working on a catchy song in waltz time about my planting and "dancing between the flowers." Rolling on the floor laughing I'm moving clumps this winter and it's HARD on so many levels. The contrast between his perception and the physical reality is really something! Rolling my eyes.

But when they bloom, my heart (at least) does dances between them... Lovey dubby Hurray!
At the end of life, our questions are very simple: Did I live fully? Did I love well?

Well being the husband, I am also very familiar with my wife using the term he is outside "playing" in the garden. What really gets me is when she is actually referring to me doing yard work, not gardening !

To be fair, I tell myself that I'm going out to play in the garden, when the reality is a lot of hard labor. But very satisfying! One can turn and look and see results. Being in an ephemeral field like music gives one an appreciation for the tangible.
