I clicked on her website, and I get the message that Picture Trail is closed, and I don't know if she has another site, I can't seem to find anything.

I just checked, and it also came up but with some strange rectangles around the sections on her home page. When I placed my order with her back in January she commented "I only have until 2/28 before PictureTrail takes my web site down." So that is probably what is happening, and I do hope we find out from her whether she will have another website soon.

Confirming that PictureTrail did indeed go out of business on 2/28 so my web site has been taken down. I moved all my photos and descriptions to a new site at Plantfans.com but the new site is not yet up. I have written to them multiple times (with no response) as to when the site will go "live" as it has been finished for weeks. I will put a link on Charlotte's Hybridizer's Corner when the new site is available.

Thanks Davi! And I hope things go more smoothly for you with Plantfans.com after this somewhat slow start. I look forward to seeing it! Thumbs up

Just went to the new site and I really like it. The photos, the prices and descriptions all there on one page with neat presentation. I was blown away by the wonderful descriptions provided for the daylilies. I will now be reading everyone of them. I hate to say it, but somehow I have no Davisson plants in my garden, I am sure that is going to change this year.
Edited to add:
I just can't say enough good things about the wonderful descriptions provided with the fantastic photos of each bloom.
This provides me with the perfect tool to aid in becoming a garden judge, really brought interest back into what was a pretty boring subject. I would love to one day be able to look at a plant and present a description as detailed and accurate as what Judy Davisson presents here (not just the bloom but the entire plant) along with enough history to make it all so very interesting.

As I was looking I noticed that, maybe that was the reason I had no Davisson daylilies.

Just read this in the new listing:
"GREAT AUNTIE PICKLEBOTTOM (Davisson 12) Everyone who knows me knows I don't "do dips" but a cross of RAMBUNCTIOUS ROSIE X CABBAGE BUTTERFLY to ploidy test CABBAGE BUTTERFLY resulted in this huge 9" bright rose spatulate diploid with a bright chartreuse throat."
Cabbage Butterfly is an unregistered plant, and the ploidy is not listed and a note states that it can be crossed with dips and tets, so I am curious how the ploidy test works using Cabbage Butterfly?

Larry

The Goldner seedlings that I was using were from a very inbred line where ploidy was uncertain so I would cross with both dips and tets to see what would set viable seeds....very unscientific! Some of those seedlings would set with both so they may have been "something else" like a triploid or mutated genetically. Crosses to tets using CABBAGE BUTTERFLY yielded very weak seedlings. Diploid crosses yielded better plants.

Beautiful website, Davi! And will you be able to post your new intros separately each year like your other website? I hope so...

Just placed an order for Doctor McGregor's Garden, now I must find the very best spot I can for it. I know there are a few more DLS in our gardens that aren't up to snuff, so I can call a couple of people and give those away, open up places for the new ones I want to get.

So...what's the difference between " held for increase" and " sold out"?

Does sold out mean that the cultivar will never be available again as it's been completely sold away? Held for Increase is obvious...

Zoia, I think that is what it means on older daylilies after all a hybridizer does not retain every daylily for years as they always have seedlings and daylilies they are evaluating besides growing new releases and the ones they are increasing. They have space issues unless they have unlimited space plus all the work of upkeep would be deciding factors. You can always ask Judy and she will let you know.
