Love the Stripes! This leafhopper goes by many names: red-and-blue leafhopper, red-banded leafhopper, candy-striped leafhopper. (Graphocephala sp., probably G. coccinea) ![]() |

Cool banner Laurie! Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. |

This little leafhopper certainly wasn't trying to camouflage itself, and it made a splashy debut. Delightful. |

Nicely done Laurie! I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown |

Great example demonstrating that everything that grows and is colorful in the garden isn't necessarily planted ![]() Donald |

Thank you all for the thumbs and comments on this colorful little guy. Donald, you are correct--there are amazing colors to be found in insects other than butterflies, spiders, fungi, algae, rocks, and water and ice when the light strikes it. ![]() |
