We love to talk about all aspects of weather, the effect on our gardens, and on our lives. It's a good place to keep a record of weather in our gardens from year to year too, so for that reason let's try to stay as close to the topic as we can. Please join in and tell us about your weather.

Hurray! First day of Spring!

It is a pretty little thing, Dave. Lovey dubby

The first day of spring is going to be a lovely one here! 52 F or 11 C and bright and sunny.

We only have patchy snow over the perennial beds around the house. One seedling bed is now free of snow, but all of the others have about 4 inches of snow over them. The next week should see the end of the snow because our temperatures are forecast to be in the 50's F Blinking Normal highs would be 39 F or 4 C. We will be almost 20 F above normal three days this week.

I guess this is a good place to complain! This is the first day of Spring and the temperature here in Houston, TX at almost 11:05 AM is only 57 F with
47% humidity and sunny skies but it only feels like 54 F which to me is far to cold for Houston, TX on the first day of Spring!!
Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant.

I'm with Rita on rejoicing springtime!
It even feels more like spring today in the upper 50s and sunny. I think I will go cycling tomorrow.

Beautiful photos,Jill. Smiling

Was working out back. Had to dig a hole, my least favorite job. Ended up sweating so I am thinking Spring is definitely here or maybe a touch of summer. Thinking

First day for me to work outside Hurray! The temperature hit about 55 F or 13 C, so we beat the forecast. It was gorgeous, sunny with almost no wind.

Beautiful, Ginny, and Hurray! for the hostas, Dave.

Today will be another great day with a forecast high of 59 F or 15 C and sunny. If it is similar to yesterday, we may beat the forecast by a degree or two. The snow is melting fast.

I went out to snap pics a while ago, and discovered that 42°F is too cold for shorts, a tee-shirt, and sandals. We're up to 48°out there now, but I'm waiting for something closer to our 62° high before I head back out.

I woke up to sun, but now it's cloudy and breezy. I may be inside organizing fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides down in the basement.

Our local forecast shows no more nighttime temps below 40°F. I'll believe it when we get to April 15, but we DID have an extremely mild winter. Maybe the forecasts are accurate!
Hardy hibiscus are a hobby, but daylilies are an obsession.
