Could I please ask to those that listed petunia. Can you elaborate on what has done best for you. I would like to order some seed for hanging baskets. Which has done best for you? Thanks |

I don't have enough experience to say. "Wave" is a good guess for general purposes. Do you mind dead-heading? How far do you want them to dangle, or would you prune the ends? I didn't find the article that detailed all the different kinds of petuias, and what the virtues of each kind was, but here are some links ... someone on one of these threads may be able to piin t you to a good article. http://garden.org/ideas/view/L... http://garden.org/ideas/view/N... Theresa, Are you planting the hanging basket with only petunias or are you putting other plants in as a combo? I like the Ramblin' varieties, Opera Supreme, Shockwaves and Easywaves. My most fave yellow seed variety is an Italian petunia called Limenchello. T&M sell it. There some new varieties this year, so I may have some new faves. ![]() Have a look at this article for some tips. http://garden.org/ideas/view/J... |

Where do you buy your seeds from? I am looking at Stokes. I want only cascading type of petunias in these baskets. |
Joannabanana Mar 6, 2013 10:54 PM CST |
Stokes is one of my faves. Look at Multifloral & Miniflora groups that are spreading or a bit mounded. Ones that have a height of 8 to 10" with over 18" stem length. The groups that they have as bedding plant and grandifloral are more upright and don't suit a hanging basket. 5 or 6 plants for 12" basket. 7 or 8 for 16" basket note: Tidal Waves will need a very large basket 24" dia and at least 10" depth. |

Joanna, where do you order the Shockwave and Easywave seeds? Do you plant them directly in the basket you want to use or transplant? |
