That's what I thought, but I've never seen a close up photo of the bloom. Pretty impressive.

That was, believe it or not, my cellphone camera. I only have an old sony ericsson c902... set on macro. poor thing is falling to pieces!! haha
I am looking to buy a fujifilm camera in the next month! :)
Also, it couldn't have been an onion, because I am sure it came off a bush same height as me :)

Thank you Pia and don't throw away the cell phone which is giving very good results. You can't carry a camera 24/7.
I think they were hinting at the Allium family and not exactly at onion's and garlic's. From the bloom I also get the same feeling. Take it as a hint and look up the Allium family on your countries botanical site, you may find something.
Regards,
Arif.

Pia, we don't ever want to be responsible for sending you out at anytime when there would be a great chance of you being mugged just to satisfy the curiousity of the photo hungry mob and inquiring minds of vegetation...(right, Lynn, Arif and Greg?) Besides, if something happened to you, how would we know the growing progress of your lithop seedling plants???? Whistling
