Hello everyone,
I'm looking for ideas for annual flowers, no yellows or oranges, for East-facing outdoor window boxes on a patio. The area gets 6 to 8 hours of sun beginning at sunrise. Any and all suggestions welcome!

No orange or yellow? How sad!
Petunias, snapdragons, Larkspurs, poppies, purple sweet potatoes.... Take a trip to the Big Box store and see what they have.

To Daisyl, yes it is sad about the orange/yellow thing. I'm not sure what her issue is with those colors (I'm posting on behalf of a friend) It may be that she just isn't fond of those colors. In any case, for the suggestions!

Lots of great suggestions but as your friend if she expects/wants flowering * all summer. That will help narrow it. Many people do not realize how many flowers do NOT keep blooming all summer.
*coleus, purple heart and others do give "color" all summer
Salvias (many kinds) seem pretty bulletproof and those I have grown keep blooming, even the perennials.
I just remembered a few more plants for you (and I have grown all in pots/planters).
Spanish Lavender (shorter than English lavender)
Blue ginger — requires bright light and shade loving
Galvezia speciosa (island snapdragon "firecracker" color is red) and hummingbirds enjoy them. This plant also bloomed a couple times a year for me.
Mandevilla — mine bloomed a few times a year
Iochroma PURPLE QUEEN .... love the color and was able to get it to bloom more than once a year.
Medinilla magnifica — also known as Philippine orchid which comes in white or pink. Mine blooms several times a year. Needs bright light and is shade loving
If the patio can accommodate red bananas such as red Abyssinian ... or dwarf red bananas ... variegated leaf bananas. Not flowers but are pretty and add color like some varieties of ti.
And .... hibiscus come in a variety of colors and combinations.
That's all I have. LOL! Hope it works out for your friend.

If you buy beautiful leaves and end up with flowers too, that's a fine way to go! : + ) Except when I kill instead of grow, I'm never disappointed this way.
