The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The 2nd best time is now.

@sw-gardener, I know, right? I bought a variegated Yam vine 2 years ago here locally for $10. Nice full basket. I've seen them sell for $100-125 for a single rooted cutting.

The plants that are the craze right now are in large part in thanks to some You Tube influencers like Summer Rayne and some others. Everyone cringes when these folks mention a plant on their social, because they know it will immediately become an IT plant, and prices will skyrocket.

The last time the International Aroid Show and Sale was held at Fairchild in Miami, this lady showed up. And all her 'fans' mobbed her asking for her autograph. At an aroid sale. Unreal

@Gina1960 Save your yam vine and maybe you can retire on it Hilarious! Crossing Fingers!

I prefer this site vastly over any other social media. At least in my opinion, this is where the real gardeners hang out Hilarious!

There's a very popular houseplant guy on instagram from Toronto, he even wrote a book and he advocates growing plants in pots without drainage holes.
 . The amount of incorrect cultural advice that circulates is almost unbelievable.

I used to like going to plant shows because they were quiet and had little fanfare. I still grow some Gesnariads though. They haven't caught on mainstream and I hope it stays that way.

Aglaonema Chinese Evergreen Lady Valentine plants are very popular. Every time I tried to order one this past year, they sold out before the order could even be filled. I had to wait until last month for them to be back in stock.
