Hello.
My new iris is in bloom.
I sown in 2019.
Dancing Star x Fashion Alert.
I like that bubble ruffle falls, and it's well-shaped.
And its color and shade.
But I think the Standards are a little poor.

Welcome! to the Iris forum!

That is a nice seedling you have there. Do you have others from the same cross that may bloom this year?

Thank you for your reply.
The same cross will bloom in a few days.
Last year, the beautiful flowers of Bitone bloomed.
Breeding is a very interesting and wonderful task.

Another lovely seedling. Thumbs up

Yes, breeding can be quite fun. I dabble and have only made a few crosses - the first few seedlings bloomed late last year in our springtime. I'm hoping for a better display this year so that I can evaluate which seedlings I want to keep.

Thank you for your replys.
The flowers introduced are all from the same fruit.
Bitone(Neglecta) bloomed a year after sowing.
Purple self is the first flowering this year.

interesting seedlings. My preference is for the amoena over the purple.

Thank you for your reply.
Amoena posted on this forum last year.
There were many people who liked this flower.
I like the richness of the Standards and their great resistance to bad weather.
But unfortunately it didn't bloom this year.

Laurie, thank you very much!
The colors may be a mundane, but the form of this blended purple iris is
I think it's pretty beautiful.
And I often get hit by a fierce May storm in my area, but this iris
We confirmed that we can face strong winds and rain.
That may be a much more important factor than beauty, in this coastal area of Shonan.

Of the over 100 seedlings I have, so far, only one has a bloom stalk! And it looks rather small for 2
TBs crossed. It may open tomorrow. Crossing Fingers!
