Do you have suggestions for shade loving plants that might be good in window boxes on the north side of the house? Also, windy side.

Lettuce greens? In PA, I grew lettuce in windowboxes. I started them inside, moved them outside in sun in spring and in shade when it got hot.

There are some pretty varieties of various greens.

I have 2 boxes filled with fushia - 'Gartenmeister' and 'Swingtime' planted with 'Non-Stop Orange' tuberous begonias and Lobelia.
Here's photo looking out the North-facing window from last year (they aren't blooming yet this year). We over-winter them in our unheated greenhouse.
