Today brought my very first TB blooms of the 2021 season. Anyone in Maryland is welcome to join in to post your season's photos on this thread.

Mine today were my:

Creamsicle orange NOID. Anyone know what it is? It was a mislabeled substitution, sent as Vanity. Definitely not Vanity. But it does light up the garden and is the very first to open, and I love it for that.

Lemon yellow NOID. Form could be a bit better. Another unauthorized, mislabeled substitution. But I kind of like it, and it reblooms. I just wish it didn't wait so long to rebloom that I can't go outside to visit it because of the cold. Anyone know what this yellow TB rebloomer could be?

Coral Chalice. This is her maiden bloom in my garden. She lights up the garden like a glowing lantern. I just love her!

Champagne Elegance. This is another maiden bloom for my garden.

Tennessee Gentleman. And a other maiden bloom for my garden.

Yes, Champagne Elegance and Coral Chalice are the only ones of these above that I actually chose. The others were misidentified, or in the case of TN Gentleman, a "bonus". I am going to have to get rid of a few of the NOIDs and "bonuses" this year, to make room for ones I really do want!

Congrats on your lovely blooms. Hurray! Hurray!

Your NOID yellow looks very much like Harvest of Memories, a rebloomer.

Thanks, Deborah. I've seen some pictures of Harvest of Memories that do look quite like it, so that's a definite possibility.

Daisy ~ I understand. It doesn't look like a perfect match, but close. It's hard to tell with pictures unless they really look identical.

Evelyn I did find one picture of Harvest of Memories that shared the form, color and beard of mine. Judging from pictures of it online, the form seems to be a bit unstable. I'm thinking this is probably it. The color is very right, for one thing.

Daisy,

'Coral Chalice' is beautiful. That one is going on my wishlist. I thought I purchased 'Champagne Elegance' from Schreiner's last year, but obviously I did not. I think they are still offering it, so maybe I will bop over to the webstore and buy one.

Mary, you will want Coral Chalice even more once you read this article. This is where I learned about it. And it's just as pretty as I expected from this article. https://theamericanirissociety...

Speaking of Chalices, I really like this old (1924) 'Chalice. I guess it was tall bearded when it came out, but it looks more like an MTB now. It is an elegant little thing, a good bloomer (blooms a really long time for me), and does not appear to be susceptible to rot.
