species. Perhaps the local VA iris society could help you. Winterbrook Iris Garden in VA could give a reference to members who grow them.

Looks like Siberian iris Contrast in Styles. The first pic below looks darker, but the second pic matches better.

That's not possible, the ends of the falls on 'Contrast in Styles' are too dark.
Not only people give others signs, but plants do too.

It's always good to remember that the appearance of color in pics can vary widely depending on things like lighting, photo exposure, manual adjustments after the fact, and the kind of camera taking the pic — not to mention things like the age of the flower, health of the plant, soil conditions, and a bunch of other things. I always try to look at multiple pics of the same variety when I'm trying to get an idea of what it might look like in real life.
