My zebra succulent, Dave, was thriving! He even had little baby sprouts. He had indirect sunlight and I hadn't watered him in a couple weeks. I check on my succulants about every two weeks to make sure they arent getting over watered. But all of a sudden, DAve has wilted and is off color and he smells. 😭
The only change i made was turning on my air conditioning. All of my other succulents are fine. Adding photos on Dave currently and from two weeks ago. The one from two weeks ago, He is behind my other succulents, so he's a little hard to see.
Can someone help my Dave?

Do those containers have drainage holes? There is almost no way to successfully grow succulents in pots without drain holes. They just make the plants rot. That is probably why your plant smells.

Poor Dave needs good light! Really good light!
I have a Dave myself. I am growing some succulents and orchids underlights. My Dave was doing okay under 2 T-5 high intensity, 6,500 K bulbs. 12" below tubes. My new light cart has 3 tubes per level. Just for the heck of it I moved my Dave under there about 6 weeks ago. Oh my! What a difference!!!!
I am seeing a deeper, richer green with these light colored, almost white marks along the edge! Gorgeous. He is growing longer pieces and 'pups' are popping up all over!

My advice is to treat Dave and his pals to a lot more light. A windowsill that gets a couple of hours of morning sun and then is brighter for the rest of the day might be just what they need.

Hi & welcome! In addition to the suggestions above, it might help to put an object under the inner pot, to raise Dave up to get the most available light. Is Dave sitting where the A/C is blowing cold air on him? When you water, do you take the inner pot out so excess water can drip away? I have a few of these too. They are outside when above freezing where the sun shines right on them for a few hours in the morning, and as close as possible to a sunny window when inside.

Hi! Kaliforniafrommi, I think Dave needs transplanting and division. The plant is low in the container and there are too many pups together. And like some other people have suggested a lot more bright light would help.

The rounder ones have rocks in the bottom to help with draining. I cant remember if I had repotted Dave though. It's probably time!

Thanks for the advice! The spot where Dave lives is a southish facing window and the table is a high top. He gets pretty good light there! I avoid actual cills in case my kitty (Clover) gets a little unfriendly (jealous) towards my plants. It has happened before 😔😿

Dave has always been an indoor plant as I dont have too many spots outside. Also I took my beautiful aloe (Winston) out during the summer and he got sunburnt (irony?), so I try and give them the best light inside. There is a fan in the window near the table Dave sits but it doesnt blow directly on them.

What the biggest concern is that Dave was the only one of my succulents (i have 7) that reacted that way in the last week. None of the other plants wilted like that. Also this is the first time ive had this issue with Dave in that same pot. I do plan on transferring him to a bigger home, but right now he seems delicate and I dont want to hurt him more.

Yes, a move from inside to outside can cause burning if plants aren't introduced to the "naked" sunshine gradually - just like a person.

Those will eventually have issues too, rocks at the bottom does not help with draining, rather, the opposite, it creates a perched water table.
