Life finally is returning to the way it once was in some respects. Some of us may have new health problems or economic issues, but the social aspects of life are returning. Vaccination programs have facilitated our interaction with society at large and eliminated much of our fear and anxiety. My state is hoping to open up fully on June 15th. It will be something like a rebirth, which is why I've chosen one of Poulsen's Renaissance roses as the thumbnail rose for this month.
Bonita Renaissance is a tall, upright shrub with a strong fragrance. I bought mine from Pickering about 15 years ago. It's healthy, vigorous, and floriferous. If I had to name a fault, I'd say that the rose is too tall. It's 7-8 feet tall in my garden and most of the blooms are at the very top. When I take pictures of the blooms, I have to point my camera straight up in the air and hope for the best.
