Life finally is returning to the way it once was in some respects. Some of us may have new health problems or economic issues, but the social aspects of life are returning. Vaccination programs have facilitated our interaction with society at large and eliminated much of our fear and anxiety. My state is hoping to open up fully on June 15th. It will be something like a rebirth, which is why I've chosen one of Poulsen's Renaissance roses as the thumbnail rose for this month.

Bonita Renaissance is a tall, upright shrub with a strong fragrance. I bought mine from Pickering about 15 years ago. It's healthy, vigorous, and floriferous. If I had to name a fault, I'd say that the rose is too tall. It's 7-8 feet tall in my garden and most of the blooms are at the very top. When I take pictures of the blooms, I have to point my camera straight up in the air and hope for the best.

Marie Pavie - is it? It's brand new so maybe it will take a bit to settle in and show it's real color. I posted a shot from last night in the May thread and this one is from this morning.

Edited to add: After reviewing the nursery's 2021 rose list - I think this is 'China Doll'. I am going to email them and ask if they can ID it. They only list 3 polyanthas.

Tatooed Daughter bud. So glad it came back this spring. There was nothing left of it after the deer were done. Luckily the roots survived and sent up new canes.

And one of Hubby's dragon statues. It had an area in the curve of his tail that didn't have any detail, so we bought some glass rocks to give him some treasure.
