We came from here
The thread "Our Orchid blooms in May 2021 💐" in Orchids forum
It is June 1. which translates around here in NJ weather-wise as the start of Summer!
All my plants - Orchids in the cage, C&S "and more stuff" on the deck and misc around the house, are now outside!
Not too much is blooming in the cage, just one of my Oncidium Sharry Baby plants starts up with a nice long spike and a few more spikes to open.

The Bulbophullum fascinator flowered a bit uneven, the middle bud opened while one bloom was just about done.

I am amazed at the longevity/sturdiness of some Dendrobiums! This Miva Abracadabra spike opened some weeks ago and actually held up through the miserable cold and rainy weekend with temps steadily in the forties F.

And I am not taking credit for this pretty Milt.Lila Fearneyhough '#10', I picked it up recently in spike at Dearborn Market. I just went there mainly to buy some Orchid bark mix and it must have leaped into my cart! Oops!

Funny how plants tend to "help themselves" into our collections, Ursula!

There's actually a bit of a story to that! I put together two articles on Cym. Death Wish and its progeny, which you can read in issues 22 and 23 of Cymbidium Chatter: https://www.cosv.com.au/public...

A couple of years I split my huge alba Schomburgkia superbiens, since I couldn't lift it any longer. This piece managed to bloom on a 5 foot or so spike, the mother plant just added growth!

What a wonderful flower, Ursula. I have that one too, and same as yours, it's adding growth, but not blooming. Hoping for some production later in the summer, when it is re-hydrated.

As one might expect, the Cattleyas didn't suffer the drought as much as the other orchids here - this C. gaskelliana coerulea X self had two buds hiding for the last few days, and burst into bloom this morning, facing directly away from me, so I finally saw them from outside the cage.

Glenn, I wish you would rethink your no camera concept...we want to see!
My purpurata carnea buds got eaten off the plant the other night. So no pictures of that from me this year.
This cute L Zip from SVO has exceeded my expectations. I bought 4 of them here's 2

The darker one opened yesterday, the other a few days ago.

Lc. Sheila Lauterbach 'Equilab' FCC/AOS

Lc. Martin Wolfe 'FLSO'AM/AOS first time for this to bloom.

I agree, they are very pretty Lindsey. I love the picotee edge with all that floof on the Sheila Lauterbach 'equilab.'

Next up from the 'Sultan of Slippers', this is Paphiopedilum delenatii fma. alba. This is a really attractive plant and I am so pleased to have one!

Now this species is bright white, not creamy white and not ivory, this is bright white. There are no spots, freckles or blotches.

Just notice if you will that yellow swath down the middle of the staminode, very attractive! And note the foliage. It is a much brighter green with lighter tesselations or markings on the leaves. Colored or pink Paph. delenatii's have much darker leaves overall.
The flower measured 8.2 cm. wide X 6.8 cm. tall. I hope you guys enjoy!!

I must have left my thinking cap at the BBS 😂 I was wondering why there were no "alerts" in the Orchids Blooms chat, then realized that we are already in June! How fast time flies!

But I enjoyed all the blooms for this month! I don't have a lot of orchids like I used to. And until I retire, I can't buy any more orchids but I love them. So I am just enjoying all your blooms! Lovey dubby :hearts:
It is nice of you all to share the blooms, it makes me feel like I get to enjoy them, without all the hard work that goes with it. Whistling Whistling
